About Me

My name is Trevor Orsztynowicz and I’m currently a technologist living in beautiful Vancouver, BC. I’ve sailed across a big chunk of ocean, worked for a few interesting companies and enjoyed the company of many friends along the way. I have an entrepreneurial spirit, and as such I’m always looking for new ideas, trends, and I tend to get excited (and opinionated) about what I think will happen in the future. Huge chunks of my time are spent paying attention to technology, politics, the economy, trends that have anything to do with doing business on the internet (which is a lot), Green technologies, Architecture, Astronomy, Food, and Travel. I’m a proud autodidact.

I have a fascination and soft spot in my heart for wooden sailboats.

We all like lists, so here are 10 things that excite me to the point of anxiety, in no particular order.

1) Having a honest to god, genuine new, good idea

2) Sustainable Development

3) Saving the other 90% of the planet from starvation & giving them tools to live fantastic (not $) lives.

4) The idea of going back to school and eventually getting a phD in something. Maybe.

5) High speed Trains, Boats powered by the wind, cars powered by ultra-capacitors.

6) Coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee

7) Beautifully designed video, art, furniture – I believe we should be surrounded by beauty all of the time.

8) When I read a book my brain starts exploding because I’m thinking of new ways these concepts can be meshed with the other things I already know. This is a slight problem for me.

9) The idea of giving people an awesome, fun, rewarding place to work, while we solve difficult problems

10) Turning 10 hours of work into a 10 second job that you can run 10,000 times.
